How I know Eva
PhD advisor (2012–16)
Eva Pastalkova was my advisor in graduate school, in the Janelia–University of Chicago Interdisciplinary Scientist Training Program (ISTP). I learned a lot from her, from technique to how to think deeply about questions. I'm grateful for her mentorship, and I wouldn't be where I am today without her.
Work highlights
- Storage of spatial information by the maintenance mechanism of LTP
- Internally generated cell assembly sequences in the rat hippocampus

Papers together
- Signatures of remote planning in hippocampal replay
- Deciphering hippocampal place codes in weak theta rhythms
- Oscillatory patterns in hippocampus under light and deep isoflurane anesthesia closely mirror prominent brain states in awake animals
- Theta sequences are essential for internally generated hippocampal firing fields
